Hit Songs to High-End Homes: Inside Taylor Swift’s Real Estate Portfolio

by Kelsi Karruli

Taylor Swift has once again found herself at the center of the cultural conversation, with fans eagerly following every new development in both her career and her high-profile nuptials with Travis Kelce.

The latest wave of speculation centers on rumors that the couple could be set to tie the knot on July 3 at Madison Square Garden after social media users claimed portions of the iconic venue had been blocked off for a private event and invitations had been sent to an exclusive guest list.

Neither Swift nor Kelce has confirmed the reports, and no official announcement has been made regarding any wedding plans.

However, the couple does have close ties to the Big Apple, having enjoyed multiple date nights in the city—where Swift has long held the keys to an opulent residence. Then, of course, there is her own history of performing at the iconic venue, where she has taken to the stage on multiple occasions, albeit never as a bride.

While fans continue to dissect every clue surrounding the couple's future, Swift has quietly built an equally headline-worthy real estate empire.

How many homes does Taylor Swift have?

Over the years, the 14-time Grammy winner has assembled a multimillion-dollar property portfolio that includes eight homes.

The collection spans across New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee, California, and Rhode Island, with each home reflecting a different chapter of her life and career.

The singer, who reached superstardom after the release of her 2006 self-titled debut album, has homebuying down to an art.

Let's take a look at some of the properties the Grammy winner has scooped up over the years—from a glamorous landmarked Beverly Hills abode to a downtown Manhattan compound, and more.

Swift's father, Scott, purchased the 11-acre farm from a client and spent time tending to the grounds when not working his full-time job at Merrill Lynch, according to Refinery29.

Georgian-style estate in wonderful Wyomissing

A few years later, Swift moved with her family to a nearby house in Wyomissing, PA.

When the property hit the market in 2022, fans got a rare look inside the Georgian-style estate.

Standout features of the five-bedroom house include a sun-drenched breakfast nook, a glossy brick fireplace, and plenty of wainscoting.

The stately residence was listed for $1,099,000 in February and sold for $800,000 in June—a 27% reduction. Is this potential proof that not everything Swift-related turns to gold?

The family moved out of Pennsylvania when Swift was a teen.

Waterfront home in Hendersonville

In 2003, the family relocated to Hendersonville, TN, so that Swift could pursue a music career. Here, her parents paid $790,000 for a 6,758-square-foot home that sits 30 minutes by car from downtown Nashville.

The waterfront home with "fantastic views" of the Cumberland River features four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and well over an acre. The family still owns the property.

Swift purchased a $2 million luxury condo in Nashville's vibrant Music Row neighborhood for herself just four years after signing a record deal with Big Machine Records.

The three-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom penthouse boasts over 3,500 square feet of living space.

According to reports, she also scooped up the smaller one-bedroom apartment below hers that same year for $387,000. She's still the owner of both units.

Fantastic in Forest Hills

Swift added another Tennessee property to her real estate portfolio when she snagged a Greek Revival mansion in the gated Northumberland Estate neighborhood of Nashville.

The singer purchased the four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom mansion in 2011 for $2.5 million. The classic mansion from 1934, which sits on 5 acres, is now estimated to be at least double what she paid.

The glamorous home features a striking curved staircase, vaulted beam ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and marble fireplaces. Swift purchased the property for her parents.

Swift shook things up in 2012 when she headed West and picked up a $1,775,000 midcentury modern home in Los Angeles.

The four-bedroom abode featured floor-to-ceiling windows, a private courtyard, a lagoon-style pool, and a 1,000-bottle wine cellar.

She sold the property six years later for $2.65 million, clearing nearly a million in profit.

A quick flip in Hyannis Port

You might have missed this quick flip. In late 2012, Swift bought a seven-bedroom waterfront home in Hyannis Port, MA, for $4.1 million.

The singer sold the property just a few months later for $5.67 million.

A holiday house on Watch Hill

If you’re well-versed in Swift’s discography, you're likely familiar with her Watch Hill, RI, retreat. Dubbed “Holiday House,” the historic abode was purchased by Swift for $17.75 million in 2013.

Built in 1930, the extravagant seaside estate once belonged to composer and socialite Rebekah Harkness, who was married to William Hale "Bill" Harkness, “heir to the Standard Oil name and money,” as Swift sings. (Bonus points if you can name the song.)

The mansion features eight bedrooms, a 36-foot-long parlor, and an octagon-shaped dining room.

Tribeca takeover

In 2014, the “Love Story” songstress purchased not one—but two—penthouses in New York City’s ritzy Tribeca neighborhood.

The transaction included a 5,869-square-foot apartment for $14.85 million and a neighboring three-bedroom unit for $5.1 million.

Swift combined the two spaces, creating a massive nine-bedroom, nine-bathroom mega-apartment with wood-beamed ceilings, a dramatic curved staircase, and oversized windows.

She purchased a third unit in the building a few years later for $9.75 million, increasing her New York City home’s layout by over 3,500 square feet.

West Coast wonderland

Swift added a second West Coast abode to her portfolio when she purchased a historic Beverly Hills mansion for $25 million in 2015.

The lovely landmarked estate was once the home of movie producer Samuel Goldwyn, co-founder of Goldwyn Pictures.

Nestled on 2 acres in a cul-de-sac, the nearly 100-year-old home features a championship tennis court, a pool house, and a rose garden.

Tribeca townhouse

Despite her dalliances with the West Coast, Swift couldn’t get enough of Tribeca.

In 2017, the musician purchased yet another Tribeca property: the townhome adjacent to her massive penthouse.

The 5,000-square-foot townhouse was transformed into her private penthouse entrance, adding 3,660 square feet to her sprawling city residence. She paid a whopping $18 million for the three-story pad.

Swift famously lived in a sweet Cornelia Street carriage house for part of 2016 and 2017 while her gigantic Tribeca compound underwent renovations.

She rented the circa-1800s four-bedroom, five-bathroom West Village home, complete with blond parquet floors and antique brickwork, for $36,000 a month.

Swift famously immortalized the address in her song "Cornelia Street." It went back up for rent after Swift's departure and is currently off-market.

A Florida penthouse for the parents

In 2018, Swift’s father purchased a St. Petersburg, FL, penthouse for $4 million.

Residents of the luxe high-rise have access to 24/7 security, a top-notch fitness center, two heated swimming pools, and a billiards room. Even with the enhanced security, the home was burglarized in 2020.
