Travis Kelce Commits to Another Season With Kansas City Chiefs—and His $6 Million Man Cave Mansion
Travis Kelce is officially returning to the Kansas City Chiefs for his 14th season—a move that he credited his fiancée, Taylor Swift, with helping him to make.
Uncertainty has loomed for months over the the 36-year-old's future in the NFL, with many suggesting that he was getting set to retire when his previous contract with the Chiefs ended on March 11, months before his wedding to Swift is reported to be taking place.
Reports then emerged that Kelce would return to the NFL but that he was in active discussions with other teams—rumors he has now put to rest by confirming that he has signed a new deal with the Chiefs, where he has played for the past 13 seasons.
He announced the news on an Instagram post shared by the account for his podcast, "New Heights," which he hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce.
In an animated video shared on the platform, Kelce announced his comeback by quoting a famous line from the film "John Wick."
"People keep asking if I'm back, and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back," he said in the clip.
The post was captioned, "He's back!!! Travis Kelce is back with the Chiefs for year 14."

According to ESPN, the athlete, who got engaged to Swift, 36, in August 2025, will return to the Chiefs on a one-year contract—suggesting that he is eager for one more shot at Super Bowl glory after the team's incredibly disappointing 2025 season, which saw them miss out on a playoff spot for the first time in years.
The outlet stated that Kelce made his decision to return to the Chiefs before the NFL's free agency window, which started on March 9. He is said to have informed the team of his decision as free agency kicked off.
His contract is said to be worth $12 million but carries a maximum value of $15 million, according to ESPN expert Adam Schefter.
During an appearance on Pat McAfee's eponymous talk show on Tuesday, Kelce opened up about his decision to return to the NFL. He admitted that he had been considering retirement, explaining that he felt the need to "take a step back" before committing to another season.
He then praised Swift for helping to give him the motivation he needed to return to the NFL.
"We share the same love for what we do, and we've had this ... desire. I'm still in love with this game," he said.
Kelce added that watching his partner "keep going to the table, keep finding new things to write about, keep finding new melodies ... and on top of that, still seeing her have that love and joy in what she does" helped to motivate him to continue chasing his own dreams.
"Yeah, of course that's motivating," he continued. "That's motivating for anyone to see, let alone my fiancée, and knowing that I'm going through something where I'm trying to figure out what exactly the future holds for me, something like that definitely motivates me to say, 'You know what, I'm not done either.'"
He also praised the Chiefs' quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, as well as coaches Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy, explaining that he can't wait to get back out on the field working with them.
"I still love going to work, putting on the pads, grinding it out, and just playing the game, you know, and I think my best opportunity was playing for the Chiefs yet again and running this thing back with Pat Mahomes and Coach Reid," he said.
"And got my guy Eric Bieniemy, Coach Bieniemy back, and there’s a lot of pieces in Kansas City that I just, I absolutely love and I can't wait to get back in the building with."
As well as returning to the Chiefs' stadium, this also means that Kelce is committing to another year of living at his palatial Leawood, KS, mansion, which he purchased for $6 million in November 2023. He has since made numerous updates to the mansion, including the addition of a man cave, which he began working on in October 2024.
Plans for the underground space reveal that it was set to span 396 square feet and would include a golf simulator.

Elsewhere, the home features six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a formal dining room, a media lounge, a wine cellar, and a full bar.
A beautiful pool sits outside alongside manicured lawns. Nearby, there's an outdoor kitchen, tennis and pickleball court, a waterfall, a hot tub, and a miniature golf course.
Both Swift and Kelce likely have very emotional ties to the Kansas dwelling—which is where the NFL star chose to pop the question over the summer, after turning his backyard into a floral wonderland to surprise the singer.
Before snapping up that palatial abode, Kelce bought another dwelling, this time in the affluent Kansas City, MO, suburb of Briarcliff West. The sports star purchased that abode for the much lower price of $995,000 in 2019. Records indicate that he still owns it.
The news of his return comes just one day after it was revealed that his mom, Donna, is renovating her home, which she will be leaving to her two sons.
Donna, 73, who has carved out her own celebrity career with endorsement deals and a recent appearance on "The Traitors," is understood to have hired a local company to carry out the work at her two-bedroom abode—including replacing nine windows and six doors.
The NFL matriarch has owned the 1,434-square-foot Orlando home for nearly seven years, having snapped it up for the relatively low price of $355,000 in 2019, records show.
However, she now appears ready to give the dwelling a thorough spruce-up, with TMZ reporting that she has already awarded contracts for the work to a local company.
It's unclear whether Donna will continue to live in the home while the work is being carried out, having relocated to Florida full time not long after she purchased the property.
Property records show that a notice of commencement for the work was filed in February. It is not known whether the construction has been completed. Those documents note that the property is registered under three names: Donna, Travis, and Jason, indicating that she plans to leave the dwelling to her two sons.
The home is located in the Baldwin Park neighborhood, which was formerly a Naval Training Center.
Now, the area offers a much more peaceful environment, despite being situated mere miles away from downtown Orlando and Disney World.
The property was built in 2005 and features a wraparound balcony. The floor plan includes a home office, a library, a den, and even a workout room.
It may be that Donna was inspired to carry out the work by her future daughter-in-law, who filed permits to complete a very dramatic overhaul of her Rhode Island vacation home in late 2024, which was going to add around 400 square feet of space to the property—to the tune of $1.7 million.
The dwelling is located just a stone's throw from a Rhode Island hotel where Swift and Kelce are rumored to be tying the knot later this year. Multiple reports suggest that they have settled on June 13 as their date.
