TikTok’s Premier Dinner Party Host Samantha Bauchmann Opens the Doors to the Tennessee Home Where She Whips Up Her Viral Hacks
Social media sensation Samantha Bauchmann has turned innovative dinner party ideas into a fully fledged online career—so it stands to rights that the mother of four is always ready to host a meal inside her Tennessee home, whether it be a casual school night supper with her family, or an over-the-top holiday feast.
Bauchmann, 35, has accrued more than a million followers across her social media profiles thanks to her brilliant hosting hacks, which have seen her sharing advice on all manner of topics—from creating themed snack plates to decorating on a tight budget.
Her online mission is clear: The crafty mom wants to prove to her followers that you don't have to be the host with the most to delight your guests, you just need a bit of imagination and a willingness to experiment with the resources you do have access to.
To that end, Bauchmann regularly offers suggestions for how to spice up even the most simple of dinner party elements; a recent video detailing a giant charcuterie board made in the shape of a football stadium scored the content creator upward of 25 million views and made fans hungry for even more hosting inspiration.
The popular post was a full-circle moment for Bauchmann, who reveals to Realtor.com® in the latest installment of Celebrity Sanctuary that it was a similar food spread that first made her social media career heat up.

“I would create these large spreads for our kids in the backyard because it was COVID [and] everybody was home, so I would make these big snack trays, and I would post those," recalls Bauchmann. "And every time I did that, those would just pop off, everybody would love those. That was kind of where I got my direction.”
At the time, the former administrative assistant and budding digital creator was based in San Diego, where she was born and raised, but a move from Southern California to the South was soon on the menu for her family of six.
In October 2022, the hosting expert, her husband Jake, 35, and their four young sons relocated to a six-bedroom, six-bathroom Southern traditional-style home in Brentwood, TN.
The cross-country change brought Bauchmann closer to her in-laws and in particular, the individual hostess with the mostest who influenced her passion for providing hospitality in the first place.
“I learned from my mother-in-law. She taught me about table settings, about menu planning, about creating an ambiance,” dishes Bauchmann.
“We have a large family,” she adds. “There's 17 of us just in our immediate family, so any time there's a family dinner, a holiday where we're all getting together, it’s quite an affair.”
Thankfully, Bauchmann’s 2007-built, 6,900-square-foot, three-story residence boasts plenty of space to accommodate all her guests and has proven to be a versatile venue that supports quality family time as well as filming party setups for social media.
Because Bauchmann is often alone while prepping her place for the next event, she welcomes having company around and doesn’t mind the mess that comes along with receiving guests or maintaining her full house.
“It is very, very messy all the time,” admits Bauchmann. “There's one little part of my kitchen that you see in a lot of the videos and the rest of the kitchen is a disaster. I have four boys so as you can imagine, there's a lot of chaos.”
The one area of the abode Bauchmann keeps in “pristine” condition is her dining room, and in this edition of Celebrity Sanctuary, she extends an invitation to the special communal space where she prepares all of her elaborate tablescapes and prioritizes pulling up a chair to enjoy the fruits of her labor.

We sold our home in California and we did a five-day road trip and moved out here and we kind of had to set up our escrows so they lined up perfectly so that way we wouldn't be doing renting. It was very stressful.
I would say it's [a] very traditional Southern [home]. It's definitely before the boom of everybody moving to Nashville because now I feel like the homes are more modern.
When we bought it, I saw that it has great bones, but we are definitely in the process of bringing it a little bit more modern.
There's a few things that really stood out in terms of its character. The dining room especially, I love the floor-to-ceiling windows that it has.
Originally, it wasn't a dining room. They had it set up as a sitting room. Then there was another smaller room that we have now set up as our mudroom that was their dining room.
When I walked in, I visualized it all changed around in my brain. It was really that room that I saw turned into the dining room that sold me immediately. We have 17 people, I need a room that is very large to fit a large table to fit all of our family around, and it is so hard to find. It's almost impossible to find a home that's already built that we wouldn't have to custom build ourselves with a very large dining room in it.
The first thing that we did when we moved into our home in terms of renovations was, we had this really ugly tile flooring in our dining room and we wanted to do this brick tile flooring that kind of matches the outside of the home in a herringbone pattern, so we did that immediately. That only took about a week or so. We did that within a month of moving in.
I'm slowly working on that room, but that was the first step because I really wanted to get rid of the floors.

I have an inspo picture that I'm kind of going after where there's going to be a wood tray ceiling in the dining room and these floor-to-ceiling sheer curtains that I'm going to put in there.
We also have these floor-to-ceiling bookshelves in our living room that are absolutely stunning. It was also a focal point and a reason for buying the house because it was just gorgeous, but they were the same color as the floors.
It was so overwhelming to the room to have the floors and the bookcase the same color, so we painted it a matte black and it has a “Beauty and the Beast” ladder on it. It's so cool.
It has gold accents for the metal on there and we did that next because we wanted to create a really cool atmosphere in the living room. In most of the slots, we have books that are turned backwards, that way it gives a cool neutral variation of color to all the different books.
I really want our home to feel functional and lived in, but also very designed and curated.
Sanctuary means, to me, a place of refuge from the world. This home is a place for all of us to come to when the world is chaotic: when maybe for [the] kids school is overwhelming, when my husband's had a hard day at work, when for me it's been a long day—we can just gather here, relax together, just be together.
The most particular place for me is my dining room. I love gathering around the table with the boys, having a meal, sharing how our day was, putting all of our devices away. My favorite thing to do is to gather around the table and communicate with each other.
When you walk in, there is a very long Pottery Barn table. I think they call [the color] Seadrift. It's a very light neutral wood. It's surrounded by 14 black spindle chairs that I just love and adore. They're so beautiful. They're very classic. Farmhouse, but not too farmhouse.
There's two crystal Pottery Barn chandeliers hanging over the table that really anchor the room. I get questions about those all the time. They're so gorgeous. I love those chandeliers.
There is a big cabinet that has glass doors on them that I keep different items for entertaining underneath and then it has a large mirror on top.
The walls are all white and I'm planning to put family photos around the mirror. There's going to be sheer curtains that will surround the windows, but I'll never close them. It'll just be for dressing the walls.

I just love sitting around the table with all of my favorite people. I love that it's big enough to fit all of our favorite people and I feel like we've had so many memories around it. It's my favorite thing.
I choose to share my sanctuary with my most valuable people: my children, my husband. I work from home and it's quiet a lot during the day, so it's a welcomed thing to get to gather with them at the end of the day and get to talk to them and see how their day was.
It's the reverse from what a lot of people do during the day. They're out and they're working and there's a lot of chaos and then they want to come home and have quiet. For me, it's a lot of quiet all day long because I'm usually in my home filming or organizing, but it's just me.
My husband is kind of the same. It's just his office. He works for himself, does all of his own stuff.
He comes home and it's the same thing, so we love to just gather and be together. The kids probably don't feel the same way. They probably want to go up to their room and stuff, but that's typical.
It really is different from week to week because we host so much. If you're walking in when I'm hosting, there's something hanging from the ceiling, I would put money on it.
If you're walking in and I'm not hosting, I have the table set with our everyday tableware. It's been on my resolutions list to have it set all the time. That way, it feels more elevated, a little bit more like we walk in and we're ready to sit down. Not empty. Lived in.
I like to create an ambiance. I love for people to come into our home and feel at ease, but also, feel so much joy sparked in their soul. I really want to create an ambiance of fun, and I feel that sets the tone for whatever event we're hosting.
When I'm setting it up is when I'm working. When I'm actually sitting at the table, sitting in a chair, I'm enjoying it.
