Strongsville, OH Homeowners Can Expect a Cool and Dry Fall, Says The Old Farmer’s Almanac

by The Realtor.com Team

This fall in Strongsville, OH, residents should prepare for a cooler-than-normal and drier-than-average season.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac has released its Fall 2025 Weather Predictions, and Ohio is set for a crisp autumn.

At the same time, Strongsville just secured the #6 spot on the Realtor.com 2025 Hottest ZIP Codes list, meaning there likely a slew of new homeowners in the area who need to be prepared to tackle their first autumn in the Ohio suburb.

A chilly forecast for the Buckeye State

The Almanac projects the Ohio Valley region will be cooler and drier than usual this fall. September is expected to average 68°F with rainfall around two inches—one inch below normal. October cools to 56°F with another two inches of rain. While residents can expect some warm spells, the season overall will lean toward brisk days and lighter precipitation.

Ohio as a whole is forecasted to be cool and dry, meaning homeowners can anticipate a more traditional fall.

Nationally, most of the western half of the U.S. will also be warmer than average, while areas like the Upper Midwest and Appalachians will trend cooler. Rainfall is projected to be below average across much of the country, from California to Florida, with the exception of the Pacific Northwest and High Plains.

Strongsville ranked #6 among America’s hottest ZIP codes

The Realtor.com report named Strongsville’s 44149 the 6th hottest ZIP code in the nation for 2025. Homes in the Cleveland suburb received 5.2× more views per listing than the U.S. average and sold in only 25 days.

In June 2025, Strongsville’s median listing price was $423,000, nearly 50% above the Cleveland metro median of $277,000. Despite that premium, the market remains highly competitive thanks to the area’s larger homes and suburban appeal.

Other Midwest markets to make the list included Ballwin, MO (63021) and Bexley, OH (43209), reinforcing the Midwest’s growing reputation as a hotspot for both affordability and lifestyle.

September home maintenance priorities for Strongsville

With a cool, dry fall on the horizon, September offers a prime opportunity to prepare for winter:

  • Check walkways for cracks: “Fix walkway and entryway areas before slippery weather can cause a tripping or falling accident,” advises Ryan Williams, general manager of 128 Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric.
  • Clean siding: After summer humidity, Chris Granger of Sears Home Services notes that siding can show mildew or dirt. A good pressure wash can refresh curb appeal and uncover hidden issues.
  • Sweep the chimney: Even if warmer days linger, cooler nights will arrive. “Built-up soot in your chimney can increase your risk of a chimney fire,” warns Lindsey Pasieka of ConsumerSafety.org.
  • Change HVAC filters: Dirty filters reduce efficiency and can damage systems over time. Granger recommends replacing them monthly to keep bills in check.
