Even in Los Angeles, a $2 million-plus price cut on a home tends to make folks sit up and take notice.
That’s the case for Snapchat co-founder and CEO Evan Spiegel, who has two homes in Brentwood available for sale. One of them, a six-bedroom, eight-bath manse, was listed for $19.95 million in March. The price was just reduced to $17.75 million.
Will this discount deliver a buyer to the French-American tech wiz? He paid $12 million in 2016, so he would still pocket a pretty penny.

The home was built in 1951 and designed by California architect Gerard Colcord. It is traditional in style and grand in size. It sits at the end of a long driveway with a motor court.
(Fun fact: Harrison Ford once owned the home.)
A paneled two-story entry opens to a spacious living room with glass doors to a patio. The dining area has a fireplace, and the gorgeous kitchen is bathed in natural light.
The primary bedroom features a beamed and vaulted ceiling, a fireplace, and a balcony. It comes with two closets and a stunning marble-clad bathroom.
Out back, there’s a lovely pool, a pool house with a catering kitchen, and a two-story guest cottage.
Spiegel came up with the idea for Snapchat while he was in college at Stanford. The app, which sends disappearing texts and photos, turned Siegel into one of the world’s youngest billionaires. Today, millions of people use the app.
Spiegel, who obtained French citizenship in 2018, has no immediate need for this particular home as he currently lives with his wife, supermodel Miranda Kerr, in a $120 million spread in Los Angeles.
