Lifestyle guru Martha Stewart has made hundreds of millions of dollars from sharing her decor and recipe tips—so it should come as no surprise that her own holiday interiors would spark envy and awe.

The 83-year-old, who resides on a farm in Katonah, NY, offered a very jolly glimpse inside her home in a series of photos shared on her Instagram account after she hosted a festive holiday gathering for the staff who work on the property.

Opting for a more understated look for her home, Stewart decorated with glittering Christmas trees on multiple surfaces and chic white wreaths on the windows.

She also makes use of the abundant greenery that can be found in her expansive gardens, revealing that she favors decorations made with natural materials.

“All the rooms in my Winter House are decorated for the holidays,” she revealed on her blog. “I try to do it a little differently every time, but it always includes lots of trees—big, small, green, gold, and silver. I also filled the rooms with lots of blooming orchids from my greenhouse. They’re all flowering so beautifully this year.”

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Stewart-approved event without a delectable menu, with the popular cookbook author revealing that she prepared a delicious spread of shrimp cocktail, caviar and homemade brioche, sliced ham, and soup made with vegetables from her garden.

“I hosted a very special gathering for the entire staff at my Bedford, New York farm,” Stewart said of the gathering in a post shared on her blog. “All my employees work so hard during the year—caring for the property and my many pets and gardens, and helping me prepare for all the meetings, shoots, parties, and other events that are scheduled through the year.

“I planned a festive holiday meal, which was served buffet style in my Winter House kitchen. It included delicious sliced ham and biscuits, shrimp cocktail, caviar and homemade brioche toast, celeriac soup made with vegetables from my garden, stollen, Panettone, lots of tasty holiday sweets, and of course, my famous egg nog. It was a busy morning of cooking and preparing, but we had a most enjoyable end of year celebration.”

In an earlier post, Stewart also revealed the extensive preparations she has made for the cold winter weather, explaining that she has taken extra care to protect her gardens from the bitter temperatures.

“What’s this wrapped in protective burlap? A planter, a birdbath, or a stone garden ornament?” she asked while sharing an image of what appears to be a statue wrapped in fabric. “During the cold season, I feel it is important to protect all these from the harsh elements. Any winter freeze alternating with thaws could crack or crumble stone or cement.”

Her hedges also get the burlap treatment to keep them safe from frost.

“Long pieces of burlap fabric unrolled in my long Boxwood Allée can only mean one thing—it’s time to cover my precious shrubs and hedges for the winter,” she added.

Stewart has owned the iconic property since 2020, when she relocated to her Katonah farm from Turkey Hill, the Westport, CT, farm she owned with her ex-husband, Andy Stewart.

In 2007, the TV personality decided to place that home on the market, as she was spending more time at her 150-acre Katonah spread.

Stewart made some very savvy real estate investments over the years, including a West Village penthouse (that she has since sold) and a 63-acre getaway on the remote Mount Desert Island in Maine, known as Skylands.

In 2021, the entrepreneur sold her cottage in East Hampton for $16.5 million. The sale was quite a coup: She had purchased the property for $1.7 million in 1991, after her divorce. The classic Hamptons estate was reportedly sold for almost twice what Stewart had initially asked.
