Leonardo DiCaprio Breaks Cover in Rare Interview To Discuss Action-Packed New Movie ‘One Battle After Another’

Hollywood icon Leonardo DiCaprio has taken part in a rare on-screen interview to promote his new movie "One Battle After Another" alongside co-stars Benicio del Toro, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infiniti.

The 50-year-old actor sat down in front of the "Today" show cameras to discuss the dramatic filming process for the movie, which hits theaters Sept. 26 and sees DiCaprio playing the part of Bob, "a washed-up revolutionary who lives in a state of stoned paranoia, surviving off-grid with his spirited and self-reliant daughter Willa."

DiCaprio and del Toro, 58—who plays Bob's close friend Sensei Sergio—shared many scenes together, with the latter joking that he had to protect his co-star from harm while they filmed a particularly intense stunt that saw the two men in a car.

"Were you really driving?" "Today" correspondent Kaylee Hartung asked del Toro, who responded: "I was really driving, yeah.

"I had Leo in the palm of my hand," he then teased. "I had to protect him and just make sure he doesn't fall from the car."

DiCaprio then joked that his co-star helped him feel protected.

"He’s a great driver, actually. Incredible. We did that loop 50 times. What was your line? 'You could park anything?'" he said.

"Give me an American car. I’ll park that boat anywhere," del Toro quoted.

Despite DiCaprio being one of Hollywood's most recognizable—and successful—stars, he tends to shy away from the spotlight, particularly when it comes to his personal life, and regularly wears a baseball cap and medical mask whenever he leaves his home.

The actor owns an extensive portfolio of homes, but he is largely based in California and regularly travels for work.

Over the years, he has bought and sold multiple residences—and even recently listed another home, this time a stunning beachfront dwelling in Malibu that he put on the market for the sky-high price of $23 million in July, four years after buying it for $13.75 million.

As well as listing the home for sale, DiCaprio gave potential buyers the chance to test drive the dwelling, simultaneously putting it on the rental market with an asking price of $65,000 a month.

The home, which is located on Pacific Coast Highway, boasts four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, and is described as being situated on "a stunning stretch of the Malibu coastline where properties are rarely offered for sale."

As a result of its plum spot, the dwelling offers exclusive access to "one of the most private and coveted beaches in Malibu," as well as spectacular views of the ocean courtesy of its perch atop a cliffside.

DiCaprio bought the home in July 2021, paying $13.75 million via an LLC that is run by his longtime business manager.

It is unclear whether the actor ever actually used the property as a full-time residence, with records indicating that he put the home on the rental market in April, before deciding to try to offload it altogether.

The listing images include few personal touches inside the home, instead capturing gleaming white spaces that are filled with neutral furniture and decor, although the listing notes that the home comes equipped with "top-of-the-line finishes and fixtures" as well as hardwood floors and "walls of glass."

Taking full advantage of its oceanside location, the home features multiple balconies and patios that can be accessed through full glass doors, allowing residents to create a true indoor/outdoor vibe throughout the year.

However, it is the primary suite that takes center stage in the property, boasting some awe-inspiring views of the ocean as well as its own fireplace for added comfort, particularly during the colder months.

As one might expect from the home of an A-list legend, the property also offers an enormous walk-in closet as well as a "spa-like" bathroom that features a spacious bathtub and a steam shower.

While there is ample space for entertaining inside the property, perhaps the most alluring living area is outside, where there is a picturesque firepit, seating area, and outdoor shower and sauna.

From this spot, guests can, on occasion, see dolphins swimming in the ocean, according to the listing description, which hails the sight as being "so rare and special."

The home is not far from a former property in DiCaprio's extensive portfolio of residences, which has featured an array of incredible dwellings over the years.

Shortly after he purchased this Malibu property, he sold off a nearby dwelling for $10.3 million, having bought that home in 1998 for just $1.6 million, according to records.

Much like his newer Malibu residence, DiCaprio offered up his former home for rent before opting to sell it, initially listing it with an asking price of $20,000 a month in 2010, although that price fluctuated over the following years, dropping first to $18,500, before rising to $23,000 a few years later.

He also tested the waters when it came to selling the property, first listing it for $10.95 million in 2016—five years before he actually sold it.

DiCaprio is understood to still use his Hollywood Hills compound as his primary residence, having bought up two adjacent residences back in the '90s before later expanding the estate with the purchase of two additional dwellings.

Over the years, the actor is said to have hosted a number of impressive soirees at the home, with Page Six reporting in 2020 that DiCaprio hosted a viewing party for the presidential election, setting up an enormous screen on his basketball court so he and his pals could watch the results roll in live.
