Kate Burton Recalls Being Jodie Foster’s Landlord: ‘She Was My Tenant at Yale’
Hollywood A-lister Kate Burton has recalled being Jodie Foster's landlord while they attendedYale together, noting that she knew she was going to be a star as soon as they met.
The 68-year-old looked back on the days when Foster, 62, resided in one of her units in New Haven, CT, while speaking to People.
“She was my tenant at Yale. I was her landlord, because she was an undergraduate and I was a graduate student," she told the outlet.
Burton noted the actress, who began her studies at Yale in 1980 after she received critical acclaim for her role in "Taxi Driver," had all the qualities it took to succeed in Hollywood.

Burton gushed about Foster's acting chops and how far her career has taken her.
“She was the most incredible child actor that has ever existed—and she's got an extraordinary career," the "Unfaithful" star said.
She also spoke about the impact Foster has had on the industry.
“She’s a beacon to a lot of actors, and particularly child actors who know that there’s a world out there for them,” Burton added.
Before attending Yale, where she studied African-American literature and graduated magna cum laude, Foster was a child star.
At the age of 12, Foster was cast in the film "Taxi Driver," alongside Robert De Niro and Cybill Shepard.
After the film was released in 1976, Foster garnered a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her role.

After graduating from Yale in 1985, Foster won Best Actress for "The Accused" and "The Silence of the Lambs."
In 1994, she got yet another Best Actress nomination for "Nell," and in 2024, she received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for "Nyad."
As for Burton, she has snagged three Emmy nominations for her roles in "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal."
She has also snapped up three Tony nominations for her roles in "The Elephant Man," "Hedda Gabler," and "The Constant Wife."
Burton also shared some insight into her roles, teasing that she "just did an episode of 'Grey’s' and I’ll be doing another one probably this year.”
She added, "'Grey's' is the gift that keeps on giving."
