Hilaria Baldwin Reveals She and Alec Want To Quit New York for ‘Fresh Energy’ in L.A.—After Listing Hamptons Mansion for $21 Million
Hilaria Baldwin has hinted that her family is done with the East Coast—admitting that she and husband Alec Baldwin are eyeing up a move to Los Angeles, where they hope to "reset" and find "fresh energy."
Hilaria, 41, opened up about how her perspective on life in and around New York City has changed of late, admitting in an interview with Gurus Magazine that she and Alec, 67, no longer want to raise their kids in the Hamptons, where they recently listed their sprawling home for $21 million.
"We don't want to raise our kids in the Hamptons anymore," she said. "We’re considering L.A. It’s all about fresh energy—a reset."
Her admission comes just days after she and Alec opted to relist their property in Amagansett, NY, having flip-flopped for years over whether to part ways with the dwelling.
The couple, who share seven children—while Alec also has a daughter, Ireland, from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger—announced in a New York Times interview in late August that they had U-turned on their plans to sell it.

But, they admitted, they found it next to impossible to "quit" the home, particularly because it had become a place their children loved so much.
"We keep coming back here because the kids are very happy," Alec said. "They love it here. When I go up to the kids and go, ‘Want to sell the house?’, they go crazy.
"It’s a kid’s home that I never want to leave."
Alec and Hilaria explained that they had initially listed the home because they felt they no longer needed it, revealing that they'd had visions of splitting their time between their Manhattan home and their 55-acre estate in Vermont, while spending summers in Europe.
Yet, just weeks later, the property was back on the market for the reduced price of $21 million, having first been listed in September 2022 for $29 million, although that price was soon dropped to $24.9 million.
Now, it seems, the duo has finally made their decision about offloading the home once and for all—albeit for a number of different reasons.
While she hopes a move away from New York might give her a "fresh energy," Hilaria also hinted that it could give her a new opportunity as far as her career is concerned—noting that she is eager to find her "own spotlight" in the wake of her short-lived appearance on "Dancing With the Stars."
"As I find my own spotlight and build something uniquely mine, I want my kids to see that reinvention is allowed at any age,” she said. "It’s important to maintain your identity—not only to live your own life, but to model that for your children."
When asked whether she is hoping to become the next Kris Jenner, helping to mold the careers of her seven children—Carmen Gabriela, 12, Rafael Thomas, 10, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 9, Romeo Alejandro David, 7, Eduardo 'Edu' Pao Lucas, 5, María Lucía Victoria, 4, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, 2—Hilaria said that she has huge admiration for the reality TV matriarch and the way that she has managed to raise a family in the spotlight without being "devoured" by the press.

"I admire Kris. I learn from women like Kris," she went on. "She’s built an empire out of love, hustle, and business savvy—all while raising her family without being devoured by the media. She shows you can do both."
Hilaria admitted that her own foray into reality TV—a short-lived TLC series called "The Baldwins," which followed her family during a particularly turbulent time—was not quite so successful.
When she and Alec started filming the show, which prominently featured their Hamptons home, the actor was in the midst of an ongoing trial over his role in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of his movie, "Rust."
That, coupled with her struggle to protect her children while welcoming cameras into their home, made the entire experience somewhat nerve-wracking for the mother of seven.
"I was angry when we started," she admitted. "I was worried and protective of my family. I had to be the head of the family through it all.
"At one point, I recall thinking, ‘What if Alec doesn’t come home after the trial? What would I do?'"
Prosecutors ultimately dismissed all charges against him. Yet the stigma surrounding the actor—and his Hamptons home—has remained.
The home's first appearance on the market in 2022 came just a few months after Alec was involved in the deadly October 2021 shooting, in which Hutchins was killed after a live round was fired from a gun that the actor was using as a prop.

Soon after, Jenny Lenz, managing director of Dolly Lenz Real Estate, opened up to Realtor.com about how the actor's involvement in such a tragedy might impact the sale of his home, noting that there was a certain "ick" factor that seemed to taint the property.
"The celebrity connection is likely a drawback for most buyers in this case," Lenz said in July 2024. "Typically, a property associated with an A-list star would command a premium.
"However, given the negative publicity surrounding [him] ... [his] connection and active participation in marketing the home is probably a detriment and clients have suggested it has an 'ick' factor."
In addition to their Hamptons home, Alec and Hilaria, who wed in 2012 after meeting at a vegan restaurant in New York City, have spent much of their married life living inside a luxury apartment building, where they own a whopping four units between them.
The first, which was purchased by the "30 Rock" star for $11.7 million in 2011, is an enormous 4,137-square-foot penthouse that boasts four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. It also comes with outdoor space.
However, as Alec and Hilaria continued to expand their family, they also expanded their real estate holdings, snapping up three more units on the same floor, allowing them to create an enormous abode for their kids.
In 2012, Hilaria bought her own 12th-floor unit for $1.2 million, adding 840 square feet to their dwelling, which seemed to provide the duo ample space for their brood for several years.
Then, in 2017, months before welcoming their fourth child, son Romeo, Alec purchased a much more modest 480-square-foot studio on the same story, this time paying $1.3 million.
He followed that up two years later with a $1.7 million purchase in 2019.
