Extraordinary Ocean-to-Lake Trophy Estate Hits the Market in Manalapan for $134 Million

by Charlie Lankston

A "one-of-one" ocean-to-lake estate in the exclusive Florida enclave of Manalapan has hit the market for a staggering $134 million—more than five times the price it was last purchased for 14 years ago.

The Mediterranean-style megamansion, which is reportedly owned by billionaire Randal J. Kirk, a pharmaceuticals and biotechnology investor, last traded hands in 2011, when it was sold for $25.5 million.

Back on the market for the first time in more than a decade, the nine-bedroom property—which has shot to the top of the week's most expensive homes list—comes complete with three separate structures that sit on a "lush" 2-acre parcel of land.

In total, the "palatial" estate, which features a main residence, a guesthouse, and a dedicated security house, boasts close to 28,000 square feet of living space, as well as two swimming pools, a tennis court, and a six-car garage.

While the Manalapan mansion is far and away the priciest property to have hit the market in the last week, there are plenty of other spectacular abodes joining it on the most expensive homes list.

Among the stand-out stars of the week are a jaw-dropping Washington farm, a historic Beverly Hills house with an impeccable Hollywood pedigree, and Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's beleaguered marital mansion, which has just made a return to the market with a significantly discounted price.

10. 1006 N Crescent Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90210

Price: $36,950,000

Hollywood heritage: One of the oldest estates in the iconic 90210 ZIP code, the property was built in 1911 and sits on a stunning 1.5-acre parcel of land in one of Los Angeles' most sought-after communities.

Since 1989, the 10-bedroom, six-bathroom property has been owned by Sally Harkham, the former spouse of Iraqi-American business mogul Uri Harkham.

Over the years, the home has regularly been used as a filming location—appearing in the FX series "Feud: Bette and Joan" and the 1964 movie "Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte," in which it served as a stand-in for a Louisiana plantation.

Among its more impressive amenities are a beautiful formal living room, an expansive 20-person dining room, a sizable guesthouse, a staff wing, immaculately manicured lawns, and a glittering swimming pool.

Despite its impressive history and high-end features, the home has struggled to secure a buyer in the last two years, having initially been listed in February 2023 for the much higher price of $45 million.
