Bill Moore, a former Starbucks executive who invented the Frappuccino in the 1990s and went on to become CEO of AllRecipes.com, is readying to put his Lake Washington home across from Seattle back on the market.
The three-level home on 5th Avenue West was built in 2004, and Moore bought it in 2016, said listing agent Bryan Loveless, of Windermere Real Estate/Luxury Portfolio International. “It’s mostly steel and concrete, a really amazing construction level. It’s just a stunning residence with fabulous views.”
The home offers panoramic southwesterly views of the lake, the Seattle skyline, Olympic Mountains and rose-colored sunsets from nearly every room, according to the listing. Architectural details include a floating steel staircase that connects all three levels, skylights, Brazilian wood floors, species wood millwork, high-end light fixtures throughout, hydronic in-floor heat in all of the bathrooms and the lower level, and custom electric shades.

The guesthouse, which is across the street from the main house and now used as a rental, features a “two-story living room with floor-to-ceiling windows,” Loveless said.
In the main house, the upper level holds three bedrooms, including the primary suite, he said. It features walls of windows, a private deck, a coffee bar and a new bathroom.
The primary has “wonderful views of the city lights at night,” Loveless said. “It’s almost like being on a ship.”
You go down half a level to the main floor, he said. From the foyer, the office is to the left and the formal dining room is on the right. Straight ahead is a double-sided fireplace that opens to the family room.
The eat-in kitchen has a main area with an island and a caterer’s wing with outside access, he said. The deck has a covered area, heaters and an outdoor kitchen.
The lower level holds a large wine cellar, lots of storage, a second kitchen, a guest suite, an exercise room, a family room and a covered patio, Loveless said. “It’s a full-daylight basement.”
A level lawn leads down to the lakefront, which offers a pizza oven, a fire pit, a spa and a one-year-old dock with lifts and four Adirondack chairs, he said. “It’s just a spectacular entertaining spot.”

The 5,539-square-foot home has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms and one partial bathroom. It sits on a 0.61-acre lot. There is also a 1,011-square-foot guesthouse with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen.
Amenities
The guest house has two bedrooms plus a kitchen; two kitchens in the main house, plus a butler’s pantry wing; a 650-plus-bottle wine cellar; a gym; two separate two-car garages; three fireplaces; a main-floor deck with a built-in barbecue station; a private primary suite view deck; a lower-level covered patio; landscaped grounds with imported stone, specimen plantings and a $50,000-plus outdoor lighting system; a level backyard with a waterside fire pit, spa and pizza oven; and a completely rebuilt dock with a boatlift, platform lift and two jet-ski lifts.
Neighborhood Notes
The home is very close to downtown Kirkland, “which is a really cool little town,” Loveless said. “People compare it to Sausalito. It’s very upscale with a lot of shops and restaurants. It’s a level walk into downtown Kirkland that takes about 10 minutes.”
“This is the gold coast of Kirkland, with some really expensive houses,” he said. “This is one of the best walking places around.”
Depending on the time of day, it’s 18 to 30 minutes into downtown Seattle and 10 minutes to Bellevue, Washington, Loveless said.
The home is on the east side of Lake Washington, he said. “There are restaurants all over the lake. It’s a nice lake to live on.”
