Christina Haack Reveals ‘Embarrassment’ Over Her ‘3 Failed Marriages’ as She Reflects On How Her Life Became ‘Total Circus’

by Charlie Lankston

HGTV star Christina Haack has opened up about the emotional toll of having "three failed marriages" while reflecting on the "total circus" of her life over the past decade.

Haack, 42, admitted in a poignant social media update that she still feels "embarrassment" at how her past relationships have ended, confessing that the knowledge she has been married and divorced three times still makes her "cringe."

However, "The Flip Off" star noted with pride that she has managed to hold on to her motivation and her excitement about life—crediting a great deal of personal introspection and work with a life coach for helping her to overcome some of the most challenging hurdles she has faced.

"Hi everyone—I just wanted to thank you all for still being here," she wrote alongside a selfie. "This past decade for me has been a whirlwind and, at times, a total circus.

"In early 2024 I decided it was time to get off the roller coaster. Since then I’ve gone through many battles with myself and my ego.

"Biggest battle has been Embarrassment. Embarrassment over allowing myself to be treated certain ways and having 3 failed marriages—trust me that one hurts and still at times makes me cringe."

Haack's update comes exactly one month after her divorce from her third husband, Josh Hall, was finalized following a very bitter legal battle that saw the former spouses trading multiple barbs online and in court documents.

However, while the mother of three's relationship with Hall does not appear to have been repaired, she has made much better progress with her two other former spouses: fellow HGTV star Tarek El Moussa, with whom she shares two kids—Taylor and Brayden—and Ant Anstead, the father of her youngest child, Hudson.

Haack married El Moussa in 2009, four years after they first met and four years before they became household names while starring together in the HGTV series "Flip or Flop." They announced their split in December 2016 and divorced in January 2018.

That same month, Haack went public with Anstead, whom she wed in December 2018. However, they divorced in June 2021.

One month later, the HGTV star went public with her relationship with Hall, later revealing that they had begun dating behind the scenes in March of that same year. The couple got engaged just a few months later and quietly tied the knot at the start of April 2022.

Though she did not mention her former spouses by name, Haack noted that she has had to do a great deal of self-reflection to overcome the heartbreaks of her past—explaining that one of the most important steps in this process was learning to "forgive" herself.

"I’ve had to forgive myself and trust that things happen for a reason," she said. "I had to finally look myself in the mirror, do the work (with my amazing life coach), and ultimately decide to take ownership over my choices and most importantly—to forgive myself.

"I am still a work in progress, but I can say that one thing has changed: I don’t have anxiety. And this came from self-awareness within (not from smoking a toad or trying a quick fix).

"I’ve had the wind knocked out of me so many times, I’m shocked I’m still happy, motivated, and excited about life. But I am. I’ll credit this to wanting to change, putting in the work to better understand myself, and only surrounding myself with people who are also happy, motivated, and genuinely want me to succeed. That last one is SO important."

Although she did not mention any of these people by name, Haack has started a new relationship since her third marriage ended, with Network Connex CEO Christopher Larocca—while also growing much closer to her ex-husband El Moussa and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa.

In addition to filming a new HGTV series with the El Moussas, Haack has been spending time with them in a personal capacity, regularly enjoying double dates, as well as joint family celebrations, including daughter Taylor's recent 15th birthday.

Haack concluded her post with a tribute to her kids, describing them as one of the most important things in her life, as well as her closest friends and family.

"I’ve been tested, humbled, and reminded of what truly matters: my kids (especially communication and them ultimately learning from my mistakes), my inner circle, and NEVER giving up on my dreams!" she wrote.

"If you’re in the tornado, don’t give up. I promise if you decide to make a change and stick with it, life can truly be peaceful, FUN and free."

As if to prove her point, Haack followed up her post hours later by launching her own Champagne brand, Clé Cachée, which she described as a "huge" milestone for her.

"Today is a HUGE day for me. I’ve been dreaming about starting a Champagne line for years—manifesting it on a vision board, traveling to the Champagne houses in Reims and Épernay, tasting, deciding, and finally popping the first official bottle in France," she gushed.

Noting that the name of her own brand means "hidden key" in French, Haack went on to explain that the beverage was "born from that search for something timeless—a little mystery and a lot of celebration."

"From selecting the grapes to fine-tuning the low dosage, I was involved in every detail to create a champagne I truly love and I am proud to share," she added.

According to the Clé Cachée website, bottles of Haack's Champagne are being sold for $99 each—with the description stating that it was "crafted for bold energy, spontaneous celebration, and the moments you make your own."
