Barron Trump Is ‘Living at the White House’ With Donald and Melania—After Transferring to NYU’s DC Campus
President Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron, has reportedly bid the Big Apple farewell—and moved into the White House with his parents, opting to continue his college studies in Washington, D.C.
Barron, 19, has spent the last year living in New York City at his father's Trump Tower in Manhattan, while completing his freshman year at New York University's Stern School of Business.
However, reports began to emerge that the teenager had made a major change to his college career at the start of the 2025-26 academic year when an NYU security officer confirmed that Barron had not been seen on campus—telling People that he was "doing a semester" at one of the prestigious school's other outposts.
Now, insiders have told the New York Post that Barron has in fact transferred his studies to NYU's campus in D.C., claiming that he has moved into the White House with his father and mother, Melania Trump.
It is unclear whether Barron plans to complete a full year in D.C., or if he will stick to the rumored semester away from Manhattan.

According to the NYU website, however, the first son will be given a unique set of opportunities at his new campus—which is described as offering students the chance to "engage deeply with politics, policy, business, journalism, and leadership through coursework and experiential learning in the nation’s capital."
Additionally, students who attend classes at the D.C. facility are given the chance to apply for an academic internship program and a Global Leadership Scholars Program through which they can earn course credit via internships.
The university's base in the nation's capital is also much smaller and more intimate that its New York City campus—which is home to 29,060 undergraduate students, according to the school's website.
By comparison, the D.C. campus is home to between 60 and 100 students who work alongside 30 faculty members and 15 administrative staff.
Annual tuition for the current academic year is $32,811.
It is currently unclear why Barron made the decision to relocate to the D.C. campus—however, it may be that he wished to be closer to his parents, as well as his father's administration, having taken on a much more active role in the president's campaign ahead of the 2024 election.
The college sophomore is also understood to be looking ahead to his future after graduation by pursuing his own business interests.
Back in January, it was revealed that Barron was already taking steps to follow in his father's footsteps as a real estate mogul, by launching his own luxury property venture alongside one of his former high school classmates, Cameron Roxburgh.
According to Newsweek, Barron and his company co-founders filed paperwork in Wyoming to incorporate his real estate venture, named Trump, Fulcher & Roxburgh Capital Inc., on July 14, 2024, listing the company's principal address as his father's infamous Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
Barron lived at the Palm Beach spread with his parents for several years after Donald's first presidency ended, before heading off to New York for college in the fall of 2024. During his time living in Palm Beach, he attended the prestigious $40,000-a-year Oxbridge Academy, which is where he met one of his two co-founders.
That same firm was dissolved on Nov. 14 of that same year, days after Donald claimed victory over Kamala Harris in the race for the White House.

However, Roxburgh, who was a member of the graduating class of 2025, per his LinkedIn profile, told the outlet there were already plans to "relaunch it" in the spring, after the president had taken office.
Roxburgh added that the team made the decision to shut down the company in order to avoid media scrutiny during the election.
Records indicate that the company is still listed as "inactive - dissolved" in the state of Wyoming.
It is currently unclear whether the trio has plans to continue pursuing the venture now that Barron has moved to D.C.; Cameron's LinkedIn does not list the company; however, it does indicate that he has since started his freshman year at St. John's University in New York where he is also pursuing business.
Still, Barron will no doubt feel right at home in the White House, having lived there with his parents during his father's first presidency, while he was still a student in middle and high school—although he completed his studies in Palm Beach after Donald lost the 2020 election and relocated to Mar-a-Lago.
The teenager is one of just a handful of presidential offspring to have resided at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue full time—alongside the likes of Chelsea Clinton, Sasha and Malia Obama, and Amy Carter.
Other first children, including George W. Bush's daughters, Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush; as well as Joe Biden's kids, Hunter and Ashley, were at an older age when their parents moved into the White House and therefore did not reside there full time.
Still, the White House has a much different feel than it did when Barron first lived there, with the residence having since undergone a number of renovations at his father's request—including the paving over of the iconic Rose Garden and the addition of some luxurious gold embellishments.
The president has also announced plans to construct a $200 million ballroom at the iconic property, revealing in an official White House press release that the room will span a staggering 90,000 square feet.
"For 150 years, Presidents, Administrations, and White House Staff have longed for a large event space on the White House complex that can hold substantially more guests than currently allowed. President Donald J. Trump has expressed his commitment to solving this problem on behalf of future Administrations and the American people," read the statement which was released in August.
