‘Call Her Daddy’ Host Alex Cooper and Husband Matt Kaplan Announce Pregnancy—a Year After Revealing Nursery Plans at $11 Million Mansion

"Call Her Daddy" host Alex Cooper and husband Matt Kaplan have announced they are expecting their first child together—less than a year after the podcasting star revealed the couple was carrying out renovations to their Los Angeles home in order to prepare for parenthood.

Cooper, 31, shared the news about their growing family in a May 17 Instagram post, sharing two images of herself and Kaplan, 42, sitting together in a chair while cradling her growing bump.

"Our family," the podcast star captioned the photos, before noting on her Instagram Stories that she had been struggling to keep the "secret" from her fans and followers, particularly as she started to show.

The announcement comes two years after the happy couple tied the knot—and three years after Kaplan got down on one knee to pop the question to Cooper in a meticulously planned proposal at their Los Angeles mansion, which they purchased for $10.7 million in 2022.

While the duo has yet to share a full statement about their happy news, a source close to the couple told People magazine that the pregnancy has made their relationship stronger than ever—amid previous reports that their romance had hit several hurdles in recent months.

"Rumors of tension in the marriage are false, and they’re so excited about this new chapter. They’ve tried to hold out as long as they could before announcing," the insider said.

It's thought that Cooper and Kaplan will continue to reside in their enormous Studio City, CA, abode, which they spent close to a year renovating after buying it—finally completing work on the project in 2023, when the "Call Her Daddy" star proudly showed off the results in a shoot for Architectural Digest.

In a June 2025 episode of the podcast, the "Unwell" network founder initially hinted at their plans to expand their family, revealing that they had begun actively trying to get pregnant the year prior—even going as far as to overhaul their home again in order to make it more suitable for kids.

"[We] started planning renovations on our house to build a nursery and upstairs kids' bedrooms," Cooper revealed at the time, before admitting that they had then put their plans on pause because she felt she needed more time to adjust to the idea of becoming a mother.

"I remember starting to have doubts. It started to eat me alive inside because, you know, this wasn't the plan. It's not the plan that we talked about and that we agreed upon ... now I'm doubting myself and second-guessing everything," she said.

"I started to get so anxious and panicked, and I started to feel like it was all just getting away from me. And I was losing this precious time ... it was this all-encompassing, overwhelming feeling. I know in my gut, like, I need more time."

She added: "I'm just so beyond grateful that Matt could not have been more supportive. He is truly the best partner to me ... and I know he is going to be the most incredible father to our babies, but I realized I need more time."

However, it seems that the duo has now decided the time is right to expand their family—although it's unclear whether that means an expansion of their marital mansion, too.

The 5,000-square-foot property, which was built in 1938, boasted four bedrooms and five bathrooms when the duo built it, however there is ample room for additional structures or additions to be built across the property's 1.48 acres.

Kaplan and Cooper carried out an extensive renovation on the property soon after buying it, a project that the "Call Her Daddy" host previously revealed she found more than a little daunting.

"I was a little overwhelmed by how much of an undertaking it would be, because [the home] was not our style whatsoever," she told Architectural Digest in 2023.

However, she soon realized that buying a home that was so far from what they were looking for in terms of its aesthetic was actually a bonus—because they could essentially treat it like a blank canvas.

"That ended up being the beauty [of it],”she explained. “It was so far from our taste that it allowed us to tailor every single room to our liking."

Having created the perfect dwelling to build their life together, Kaplan cemented the property's significance in their relationship in 2023 by getting down on one knee and popping the question to Cooper in their backyard.

Cooper and Kaplan said "I do" in April 2024 in Riviera Maya Mexico. While speaking to Vogue, Cooper gushed about the wedding, revealing, "It was everything we wanted it to be. It was emotional, heartfelt, and we tailored it to exactly how we always envisioned it.”

Meanwhile, Kaplan added, “We weren’t looking to have a formal wedding. We wanted it to feel relaxed and authentic to us and the location, so from the decor to the festivities, it all was very naturally curated.”

"We wanted to choose a destination that was private, romantic, and felt like a vacation for not only us but all of our guests. It was really important to us to keep the guest list small so we could be present with each other and the people who we love the most and who have helped us become who we are today," Cooper said.

The lovebirds first met during a Zoom call in 2020, after which the podcast star nicknamed him "Mr. Sexy Zoom Man."

Cooper previously admitted to W that she was unsure if she would ever want to get married; however, that all changed for her during a date night with Kaplan in 2022, during which she told him he could propose "whenever he wanted."

According to Cooper, Kaplan "was beaming, because he had accepted that maybe we wouldn't get married."

The "Call Her Daddy" host also revealed to W that she loved how supportive her spouse is.

"Matt has always been my biggest supporter. It's very attractive to have a man not be intimidated by a woman's extreme success," she said.

The news of Cooper's pregnancy comes mere weeks after Bloomberg published a bombshell report that claimed that Kaplan "frequently" shouts at the Unwell staff, citing people "familiar with the company's operations."

The outlet also claimed that Kaplan "berated" the staff during the "Unwell Winter Games," even causing someone to allegedly break down in tears.

Cooper has made headlines in recent weeks after posting a video addressing Alix Earle, telling the social media sensation to "stop hiding behind other people" and comment on their issues.

Although Earle commented "on it" on the clip, she never addressed the drama and even dodged questions about the beef during a recent appearance on the "Today" show, where she said, "We don't actually have that much time here, honestly, and also, it's like, why ruin such a good day with something not so great. Let's keep the positive vibes going."
