Award-winning actress and “Hacks” star Jean Smart appears to have “hacked” the real estate market after listing her stunning $5.9 million Encino, CA, compound and securing an offer—all within 24 hours.

Built a century ago, the seven-bedroom, six-bathroom estate has been thoroughly updated, resulting in a modern manse that abounds with gracious charm.

The home, which was built in 1924, offers an ample 8,500 square feet on a 0.81-acre lot. Located in the upscale Rancho Estates neighborhood, the house is accessed by a long, gated driveway for maximum privacy.

Described in its listing as a “private and stunning home,” the compound’s design includes both original and modern details, including a pitched roof, stone foundation, and an oversized fireplace.

It also boasts many large spaces that are ideal for those who love to host and entertain, including a formal living room, dining area, family room, and a breakfast nook. A home office/media room, playroom, and a bar are also part of the package.

Main bedroom amenities include double closets and a large bathroom with a soaking tub.

A one-bedroom, one-bath guesthouse with an office is also part of the property. That space could be a she-shed or workshop.

Meanwhile, patios, wraparound porches, a pool, spa, and a generous pool deck allow for lots of entertaining and lounge space.

A huge lawn offers space to walk and for children and pets to frolic. Multiple cars can be parked in the motor court or three-vehicle carport.

However, anyone interested in the property will have to act fast, because the home received an offer less than 24 hours after it landed on the market, according to its listing.

According to records, Smart, 72, and now-late husband Richard Gilliland originally purchased the home back in 2002 for the relatively low sum of $1.5 million. Seven years later, they made “extensive” updates to the property, including a sizable expansion.

“The original home was extensively expanded and updated in 2009, and maintains its original charm,” the listing goes on.

The three-story home has a generous driveway and motor court.

Smart’s husband died of a heart condition in 2021 at the age of 71. The actress revealed in an interview later that year that Gilliland had passed away while she was in the middle of filming for “Hacks.”

“I still had a week of ‘Hacks’ left to do,” she told the New Yorker. “That was hard. I had to do a funeral scene. I was a wreck, but it actually turned out to be very funny.”

The actress went on to pay tribute to the way in which her actor husband gave up his own dreams of stardom in order to allow her to forge ahead in Hollywood.

“He really sacrificed his career for me to be able to take advantage of my opportunities,” she said. “I wouldn’t have all this, if it wasn’t for him.”

Smart has won five Emmys and a Golden Globe over her storied career, with roles in such shows as “Mare of Easttown,” in which she featured alongside Kate Winslet; “24;” and “Designing Women,” in addition to the well-received “Hacks.”

She also appeared the 2022 film “Babylon” with Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt as well as “A Simple Favor” with Blake Lively and “Senior Moment.”
